Delivery Manager

Manufacturing Digital Thread
- Reading 1 day per week
- Up to £600 per day - inside IR35
- 12 month contract
SC Clearance is essential for this role
This role is accountable for the delivery, roadmap, backlog, and lifecycle management of the Manufacturing Digital Thread within their defence programme.
It includes ownership of the development and implementation of digital capabilities including Technical Data Package (TDP) governance, as-built and as-delivered data management, data synchronisation, data classification, and secure data exchange workflows supporting manufacturing problem management.

- Strong understanding of Manufacturing Digital Thread and Digital Engineering environments, including PLM, MES/MOM, ERP, APS, QMS, IIoT, and enterprise system integration.
- Experience defining and delivering product strategy, roadmaps, backlogs, and digital transformation initiatives for complex engineering or manufacturing solutions.
- Proven expertise with PLM platforms (e.g. Teamcenter, Windchill, 3DEXPERIENCE) and integration with manufacturing and business systems.
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Model-Based Enterprise (MBE), and digital manufacturing enablement.
- Understanding of Technical Data Package (TDP) governance, configuration management, data continuity, and as-built/as-delivered traceability across the product lifecycle.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies including Digital Twins, Industry 4.0, AI/ML, predictive analytics, and smart manufacturing solutions.
- Experience working within aerospace and/or defence environments, collaborating across engineering, operations, suppliers, and technology partners.

The role is responsible for defining the digital manufacturing toolset, infrastructure requirements, and technology demonstrators to validate and scale solutions. You would own the digital products and services underpinning manufacturing capability, rather than physical manufacturing operations.
