Delivery Manager

Contract: 6 Months
Location: Reading, Hybrid
Start: ASAP
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of interim digital engineering capabilities within a highly regulated environment. You will be responsible for driving end-to-end delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams and suppliers, and ensuring solutions align with technical, security, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of interim digital capabilities from concept through to operational support.
  • Develop delivery roadmaps, manage backlogs, and ensure successful delivery against agreed timelines.
  • Work closely with engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders to define requirements and ways of working.
  • Coordinate internal teams, suppliers, and third parties to manage risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with Security by Design principles, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement, incident resolution, and operational readiness.
  • Support interoperability, secure data exchange, and integration across complex environments.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in Delivery Management within Defence, Aerospace, or other complex engineering environments.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale digital or engineering programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience managing suppliers, third parties, budgets, risks, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Understanding of digital engineering, systems integration, interoperability, and data exchange.
  • Familiarity with Security by Design, cybersecurity, and governance within regulated environments.
  • Degree in Engineering, Technical, or related discipline.
  • PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Active SC Clearance.

  • Experience with Digital Thread, PLM/ALM, or Model-Based Engineering.
  • SAFe, ITIL, or Change Management certifications.
  • Experience working within defence, aerospace, or other safety-critical industries.
  • Knowledge of secure cross-domain collaboration and modern digital engineering practices.
