What you’ll be doing:
The role is responsible for planning and executing programmes of upgrade, repair and remediation works across a portfolio of operational solar farms and BESS sites. This includes active interfacing with clients and key stakeholders to manage expectations, communicate progress, and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual and performance requirements.
- Manage a pipeline of project work through all stages including quotation, approval, scheduling, planning, execution, technical completion, de-snagging, invoicing and warranty claims.
- Forecast the team’s long-term resource demand and supply. Action any imbalances.
- Develop relationships with a selection of quality sub-contractors, managing their site works and providing timely feedback.
- Draw up a consolidated ongoing Project Plan to identify the resources, materials, plant, procedures, costs and timeframes.
- Execute the Project Plan in accordance with manufacturer’s and warranty requirements, contract terms, BELECTRIC quality systems, HSQE standards (including CDM) and best industry practice.
- Identify delivery risks and manage changes to scope, cost, and programme through agreed internal and client approval processes.
- Manage project costs and track expenditure against approved budgets, highlighting risks to margin.
- Identify and manage variations to scope, including supporting client agreement and internal approvals.
- Support the planning and execution of corrective works following major plant or equipment failures, once scope, priorities, and approvals have been confirmed by Operations.
- Coordinate with OEMs, DNOs, and specialist contractors where required to support project delivery.
- Accountability for the safety, profitability, quality and warranty claims in relation to the Project Plan.
- Delivery of the approved Project Plan – including producing documents for tendering, leading on procurement activities, finalising programme of works, organising enabling activities, managing of sub-contracted works, provide status updates, testing, commissioning, updating CDM, organising handovers.
- Coordinate with and provide relevant support to Solar and Battery Storage Project work.
- Identify resources within BELECTRIC that can be deployed on the Project Plan (e.g. LVAPs, SAPs).
- Work with the Procurement/Legal team to get sub-contract frameworks in order to reduce ad-hoc contracts.

- Experience working on solar or BESS sites – ideally on a utility scale level.
- Knowledge of the construction activities for solar farms and/or BESS sites.
- Understanding of CDM & HSE regulations.
- Budget/ cost management experience.
- Programme planning/scheduling.
- Contract management experience.
- Experience managing a programme of electrical and civil project work.
- Experience of managing sub-contractors.
- Knowledge of typical labour and materials costs in the solar industry.
- Experience delivering projects safely, on time and on budget.
