Summary
Delivery Manager to lead a major platform migration from Apigee Edge to Apigee X. This is a practical, hands-on delivery role focused on coordinating teams, unblocking progress, and keeping delivery moving at pace — not a pure Agile Coach position.
You’ll work iteratively in line with GDS standards (Discovery → Alpha → Beta → Live) and help a multidisciplinary team deliver against tight timelines while maintaining team health.
Key role and responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate delivery of the platform migration from Apigee Edge to Apigee X.
- Maintain strong delivery cadence across Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live, following GDS principles.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and ensure the team works iteratively with clear priorities.
- Identify, surface and resolve blockers early — not just track them.
- Work closely with engineers, architects and product teams to sequence migration activities and manage dependencies.
- Drive clear communication and alignment across client, Cognizant, Google and other stakeholders.
- Support delivery planning, risk management and cross-team coordination.
- Help maintain team health during a time-pressured migration programme.

Key skills for this role
- Proven experience as a Delivery Manager on technical or platform migration programmes.
- Strong understanding of iterative delivery and the GDS framework.
- Excellent stakeholder management across multi-vendor environments.
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable guiding delivery in complex, technical settings.
- Strong grasp of Agile ways of working (WIP limits, prioritisation, ceremonies, Agile values).
- Able to understand technical outcomes at a business level (no coding required).
- Practical, hands-on approach with a bias for action and problem-solving.

Nice to Have
- Experience with Apigee Edge, Apigee X, or other API gateway platforms.
- Background delivering in Client or wider public-sector environments.
- Familiarity with Emily Webber’s Agile Delivery Manager principles.
