Delivery Manager – Biomass Due Diligence
Permanent, Full-time
Location: London or Selby, hybrid work pattern
Hybrid working – 2-3 days per week in your local office
Closing Date – 6th October
We're looking for a Delivery Manager to join our Biomass Supply Chain & Schemes team. In this role, you'll manage the first-line delivery of biomass due diligence, assessing pellet mills against sustainability criteria set out in UK subsidy arrangements.
As a Delivery Manager, you'll run an ‘audit-ready’ workbook and make sure the systems, processes and controls behind our sustainability information are regularly reviewed, maintained and improved. Working with fuel buyers, auditors, Compliance, Internal Audit, analysts and external suppliers, you'll help ensure the information submitted to market operators, regulatory agencies and government departments is accurate and compliant.

About the role:
As a Delivery Manager - Biomass Due Diligence, you'll be responsible for managing a high-quality due diligence programme for biomass fuel. You'll provide subject matter expertise on the sustainability requirements of biomass support mechanisms and internal policy, helping the business maintain ongoing compliance.
You'll deliver evidence-based decision making on biomass due diligence programmes and ensure suppliers fully understand and adhere to the UK sustainability framework for UK fuel. You'll also be accountable for key sustainability data and compliance processes, while building effective relationships across the biomass supply chain. You will ensure that reporting to key internal and external stakeholders is accurate and complete.

Key accountabilities include:
- Managing the delivery of a high-quality due diligence programme for biomass fuel.
- Liaising with biomass fuel suppliers and leading on delivery of annual cycle of supplier engagement.
- Accountable for the management and record keeping within the Sustainability Data System (SDS), including continuous review and improvement of the system and associated processes.
- Working closely with the Delivery team to ensure accurate data collation, verification and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Accountable for compliance plan for UKTR.
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal Biomass Buyers and external biomass suppliers to support efficient onboarding and contract management.
- Reviewing certification documentation at a regional and individual pellet mill level, and understanding.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders including Compliance, Legal, Finance, international and local Sustainability teams.
- Supporting audit activities.
Who we’re looking for:
You'll bring a strong combination of sustainability or industry knowledge, delivery focus and stakeholder management. You'll be comfortable working across several priorities at once, while maintaining the accuracy and attention to detail required in a regulated environment.
- Experience of biomass or the energy sector is highly desirable but not required. Experience within Legal, Accounting, Audit or Procurement functions would be of interest.
- Ability to handle and drive change when necessary.
- The ability to manage challenging workloads and meet demanding timescales across multiple workstreams.
- The ability to translate complex issues and contractual provisions into clear, workable plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presenting.
- Confidence engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, well-evidenced record keeping.
