Working pattern: Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days a week working in the office
Travel: Occasional travel across the East region, as and when required
Location requirement: Based within reasonable travelling distance of Peterborough

About the role
Help turn data into decisions across a £600m+ capital programme in our East region.
You’ll lead our portfolio intelligence and delivery reporting capability, giving leaders a clear view of performance and helping identify where intervention can keep projects and programmes on track.
Why this role matters
Our East region includes some of the most important operational sites on our network, from Bacton Gas Terminal to compressor stations across the region. Behind that infrastructure sits a significant programme of investment, and good decisions depend on having the right insight at the right time.
You’ll bring together data from across the portfolio, spot emerging risks, trends, and dependencies, and translate them into clear recommendations. Your insight will help leaders focus attention where it matters most, strengthen delivery confidence, and get the best from our investment across the region.

What you'll be doing
- Lead and continually improve portfolio intelligence and reporting across the East region
- Provide clear, decision-focused insight on delivery performance, risks, dependencies, and emerging issues
- Own Programme Board and executive portfolio reporting, turning complex data into actionable recommendations
- Develop performance measures covering areas such as cost, schedule, milestones, delivery confidence, and intervention
- Challenge teams on performance, data quality, assumptions, risks, and recovery plans
- Lead intervention and escalation processes to help teams address slippage, blockers, and cross-portfolio dependencies
- Manage, coach, and develop a Reporting Analyst, setting priorities and maintaining high standards of reporting
What you'll bring
This role would suit someone who enjoys looking beyond the numbers to understand what they mean, asking the right questions, and using insight to influence better decisions.
Essential
- Significant experience in project, programme, portfolio, or performance reporting
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to make sense of incomplete, conflicting, or changing information
- Experience leading or line managing others, including coaching, prioritisation, and quality assurance
- Confidence influencing and constructively challenging stakeholders on performance, risk, and data quality
- Experience developing performance measures, reporting frameworks, or portfolio controls
- Ability to translate complex information into clear executive-level insight and recommendations
- Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of Power BI or equivalent reporting and visualisation tools

Desirable
- Experience of cost, schedule, milestone, CPI/SPI, risk, or delivery confidence measures
- Experience working across a large capital investment or infrastructure portfolio
- Knowledge of project controls, portfolio governance, or programme delivery
- A relevant degree or analytical qualification, or equivalent experience in a related discipline
