About us
Evenlode Landscape Recovery (ELR) is delivering one of Defra's ambitious 25-year Landscape Recovery programmes across the North East Cotswolds. Spanning approximately 3,031 hectares and around 50 farm holdings in the Dorn, Glyme and Evenlode river catchments, the programme brings together farmers, landowners and partners to restore rivers and habitats, improve water quality, reduce flood risk and create lasting environmental and economic value.
ELR works hand in hand with the North East Cotswold Farmer Cluster CIC, a farmer-led community interest company committed to nature-friendly farming at a landscape scale. Together we combine ambitious environmental delivery with a genuinely collaborative, farmer-first approach. As we move into delivery, we are building the team needed to turn long-term plans into practical action.
The role
The Delivery Support Coordinator will help environmental projects move from plan to delivery. Your main responsibility will be coordinating the permits, licences and consents required for our works: identifying what is needed, preparing applications, liaising with regulators and keeping clear records of approvals and conditions. Alongside this core responsibility, you will provide practical administrative and coordination support across the wider delivery programme.
The balance will change as projects progress, but we expect the role to be approximately 60-70% permits, licences and consents and 30-40% wider delivery support. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys detail, follows actions through and wants to help a busy team stay organised.
Key responsibilities
Permits, licences and consents
- Work with technical and project leads to identify the permits, licences and consents required for planned works, including environmental permits, flood-risk activity permits, protected-species licences, abstraction and land-drainage consents, and planning permissions
- Monitor regulatory requirements and timelines so that applications and approvals are built into delivery plans early
Applications and regulatory liaison
- Prepare, compile and submit accurate applications to the relevant regulators and authorities, coordinating supporting information from colleagues and advisers
- Liaise with regulators and statutory bodies, including the Environment Agency, Natural England, local planning authorities and internal drainage boards, to progress applications, answer queries and keep colleagues informed

Tracking conditions and compliance
- Maintain a clear consents register covering application status, key dates, conditions, expiry dates and next actions
- Make sure permit and consent conditions are recorded, communicated to delivery teams and reflected in project documentation
- Maintain a complete, well-organised audit trail of applications, correspondence, approvals and supporting evidence
Wider delivery support
- Help maintain project trackers, action logs, deadlines and meeting follow-ups across the delivery programme
- Coordinate documents and information needed from colleagues, landowners, advisers, contractors and delivery partners
- Support the preparation of routine correspondence, meeting papers, project updates and other delivery documentation
- Provide flexible administrative support across the programme during busy periods, while keeping consents work and regulatory deadlines on track
Person specification
Essential
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence maintaining registers, trackers, action logs and organised records while managing several deadlines at once
- Clear and professional written communication, with the ability to prepare accurate forms, correspondence and supporting documents
- Confidence liaising with external organisations and building constructive working relationships
- A methodical, proactive approach, sound judgement about when to escalate an issue and the ability to work independently in a remote role
- The flexibility to move between detailed regulatory work and broader administrative support as programme priorities change
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, particularly Docs, Sheets, Drive and email

Desirable
- Experience in project, programme, operations or delivery administration
- Some exposure to environmental, planning, land-management, ecology or regulatory processes through study, placement or work
- A relevant degree or qualification, such as environmental science, geography or planning, although this is not essential
- Awareness of environmental permitting or protected-species licensing
- A genuine interest in the environment, farming or rural affairs
Attitude
- Takes ownership of actions, follows up consistently and takes pride in accurate, well-kept records
- Is persistent and professional when progressing information or decisions with busy colleagues and external bodies
- Asks why a consent is needed, not only whether the form is complete
- Is comfortable switching between specialist consents work and practical support for the wider team
- Wants to grow into the regulatory and delivery side of environmental projects
How we work
- We are a small team delivering a large, complex programme, so many of our processes are still being built. You will help shape how both consents coordination and wider delivery support work
- We move quickly and improve things as we learn, rather than waiting for a perfect process before we start
- You will work directly with the people making decisions and be trusted with real responsibility early, with support from technical and operational colleagues
- We are remote-first, with occasional travel to the programme area for team days and site visits
