Full Time Role in Burton Upon Trent Office

This is a full time role which will require you to be onsite in our Burton Upon Trent office three days per week

Role Purpose

The Demand, Capacity & Resource Planning Lead (DCRPL) is accountable for converting forecast Patient demand into an integrated, end-to-end operational resource plan through the organisation’s Prescription to Treatment strategy. Patient volume is the primary demand input and is translated into activity, capacity, skill and workforce requirements across our core business areas.

The role owns both the strategic design of the planning model and the day-to-day execution of resource planning. It ensures resource and capacity decisions meet operational demands within agreed assumptions, approved budget levels, workforce establishment, productivity targets, service-level requirements and patient-safety controls.

The postholder will be an accomplished leader, stakeholder manager, and trusted adviser who creates one clear planning view across the end-to-end operation. They will combine strategic foresight with disciplined day-to-day resource control, ensuring decisions on people, process, technology and infrastructure are grounded in a transparent understanding of prescription demand, operational workload, shrinkage, service performance and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end demand, capacity and resource planning strategy across all in-scope operational functions.
  • Develop and maintain a single end-to-end demand model.
  • Own day-to-day resource planning and deployment across all operational functions, ensuring resource levels, skill allocation, shift coverage and contingency arrangements meet demand within agreed shrinkage, productivity, service-level and budget parameters.
  • Convert patient volumes and therapy mix into activity across onboarding, prescription processing, patient enquiries, funding activity, pharmacy verification, pharmacovigilance, dispensing, accuracy checking, picking, packing and distribution.
  • Translate functional activity into productive hours, capacity and FTE requirements using agreed KPIs, throughput, handling times, utilisation, shrinkage, occupancy, service levels and quality standards.
  • Produce short, medium and long-term workforce plans covering skill mix, recruitment, training, shift coverage, management capacity, contingency and resilience.
  • Monitor actual versus planned resource utilisation and expenditure, taking timely corrective action to address capacity gaps, unplanned shrinkage, productivity variance, service risk, overtime pressure and budget variance.
  • Maintain workforce plans within approved budgets, escalating material demand or capacity changes through agreed governance and decision-making routes.
  • Lead scenario modelling for new therapies, commercial growth, patient migrations, large-scale switches, funder changes, seasonal demand and service transformation.
  • Partner with leaders across the organisation to validate assumptions and align growth forecasts with operational readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, cross-skilling, resource flexibility, process design, automation, cost-to-serve and scalability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
