Dementia Champion – Cherry Blossom Care Home (Allegra Care)

Location: Peterborough

Hours: Part-time, 18 hours per week (including alternate weekends)

Pay: £13.20 per hour

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Dementia Champion to join our Activities Team at Cherry Blossom Care Home. This rewarding, hands-on role involves working closely with residents, families and colleagues to promote person-centred dementia care and enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of those living with dementia.

What You'll Do

  • Advocate for and promote best practice in person-centred dementia care.
  • Ensure activities and interactions are tailored to each resident's individual history, preferences and daily routines.
  • Encourage hobbies, interests and new experiences that support wellbeing and engagement.
  • Support the planning and delivery of meaningful activities, events and outings alongside the Activities Team.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and the wider community.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents and their families.
  • Share stories and special moments that celebrate life within our home.

About You

  • A natural people person with strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about improving the lives of people living with dementia.
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within a care home environment.
  • Creative, enthusiastic and adaptable in your approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • A team player who is caring, compassionate and proactive.
