Dementia Wellbeing Assistant – Guild House

£13.00 per hour plus weekend enhancement of £1.00 per hour

30 hours per week includes alternate weekend working.

Guild House is a CQC-regulated residential care home providing high-quality care and support for older people. We are committed to delivering person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, wellbeing, and quality of life for all our residents.

About The Role

We want to make every day meaningful for our residents and are seeking a caring, creative and compassionate person who enjoys making a positive difference to the lives of older people. This rewarding role focuses on enhancing the wellbeing, happiness and quality of life of our residents, particularly those living with dementia. You will support residents to take part in meaningful activities, build relationships, maintain interests and enjoy opportunities that bring purpose and enjoyment to each day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering a varied programme of one to one and group meaningful activities and events
  • Supporting residents living with dementia through meaningful occupation and social engagement
  • Organising reminiscence, music, crafts, exercise and community activities
  • Encouraging independence, choice and participation
  • Promote positive mental and emotional wellbeing
  • Working collaboratively with care staff, families and volunteers
  • Contributing to a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and outcomes

Essential Requirements

  • Experience of working with older people
  • Understanding of dementia and person-centred care
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to working hours
