Telford & Wrekin Council

This is a 6 month fixed term contract.

About Telford & Wrekin

Telford & Wrekin has a history of ambition and innovation. Home to the historic World Heritage site of Ironbridge, the birthplace of the industrial revolution and, today, one of the fastest growing boroughs outside of London with an unmatched reputation for attracting inward investment and growth. Two thirds of the borough are rural and offer unrivalled access to green space whilst Telford town centre is a regional destination offering burgeoning nightlife and a retail offer second to none.

Telford & Wrekin Council is equally ambitious, being one of the first authorities to move to become a “commercial Council” to secure income to protect investment in our frontline services. This investment has seen both our children and adult safeguarding services ranked as “outstanding” by OFSTED and the CQC respectively. We are an authority that works hard with, and for, our local community to get things done and make Telford a great place to live.

We’re the MJ Authority of the Year for 2022 and were the APSE Council of the Year in 2021.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
