Role Description
The Denim Technician is a part-time, hybrid role based in Manchester, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. This role focuses on the technical development of denim products, related apparel, ensuring that fabric performance, washes, finishes, and construction meet design specifications and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with designers to translate creative concepts into technically feasible denim styles, preparing technical specifications and sample requests, and reviewing fit, durability, and comfort aspects of denim components.

The Denim Technician works closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers to troubleshoot technical issues, optimize production processes, and support cost-effective yet high-quality outcomes. Additional responsibilities include maintaining detailed documentation, adhering to company quality and safety guidelines, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the denim product range.

Qualifications
- Technical expertise in denim fabrics, washes, finishes, and construction methods, with the ability to assess performance and quality.
- Experience in footwear or apparel product development, including creating technical specifications, size standards, and sample review feedback.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with design, production, and sourcing teams across different locations and cultures.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying technical issues, proposing solutions, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Good communication skills in spoken and written English; ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with relevant design or technical tools (e.g., CAD for patterns, PLM systems, or other product development software) is an advantage.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control practices, and compliance standards in footwear and apparel production.
- Prior experience in denim-focused roles or textile technology, and relevant vocational training or a degree in fashion technology, textiles, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, manage part-time schedules effectively, and adapt to evolving business needs.
