The Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene (FSDH)

The Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene (FSDH) is excited to announce the potential expansion to its MCPHS campus in Manchester, NH on July 1, 2027. The Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene seeks a dental clinic manager to oversee the daily operations of the dental hygiene clinic, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant clinical services.

The role manages supplies, equipment, sterilization and infection control processes, regulatory documentation, student clinical resources, and emergency preparedness while supporting faculty, students, and clinic operations. This position is contingent upon the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) approval of the proposed program expansion. A decision on approval from CODA for this expansion is anticipated in March of 2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Orders, receives, and maintains all clinical and laboratory supplies with approval from the Dean, taking advantage of vendor promotions and ensuring supplies are stored safely and organized efficiently.
  • Monitors and maintains supply inventories and prepares annual inventory reports documenting supply usage.
  • Maintains an up-to-date Excel spreadsheet of all purchase orders organized by budget code.
  • Reviews packing slips for accuracy, maintains invoice records, and submits invoices for payment approval.
  • Oversees ordering and distribution of student instrument kits.
  • Coordinates meetings with the Dean, Associate Deans, Clinic Coordinators, and vendors regarding the selection of instruments, materials, and supplies for student kits.
  • Coordinates the ADEX licensure examination process for graduating students.
  • Manages equipment repairs, service requests, inspections, warranties, and replacement schedules.
  • Schedules and oversees preventative maintenance for all clinical units and equipment.
  • Works closely with MCPHS Facilities to submit and monitor work orders and ensure timely resolution of clinic-related issues.
  • Responds promptly to daily equipment malfunctions and operational concerns within the clinic.
  • Conducts proper sterilization protocols and monitoring, including documentation of biological monitoring of sterilizers, and maintains all associated records and logs.
  • Maintains all clinic logs required by the Department of Public Health (DPH), University policies, and accreditation standards.
  • Maintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS) documentation and ensures compliance with safety regulations.
  • Monitors and enforces infection control procedures throughout the clinic.
  • Prepares clinic supplies and materials for faculty and student use prior to and during clinical sessions.
  • Trains faculty and students on proper equipment operation, sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and clinic safety practices.
  • Disinfects and sterilizes student instrument cassettes and handpieces following and during clinical sessions.
  • Evaluates students’ participation in clinical aide rotations.
  • Works with students and faculty providing operational support as needed.
  • Hires, trains, schedules, and supervises work-study students.
  • Maintains emergency carts, including supplies, oxygen, medications, and related documentation.
  • Coordinates medical emergency reviews, drills, and preparedness activities with Clinic Coordinators and faculty.
  • Understands and implements emergency response protocols and assists during drills and actual emergency situations.
  • Distributes, collects, and coordinates processing of radiation monitoring badges in collaboration with the Environmental Waste Officer.
  • Arranges for proper handling, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and regulated waste.
  • Provides front desk coverage and operational support as needed.
  • Assists with community outreach programs and ensures appropriate supplies and materials are available for outreach activities.
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, vendors, and administrators to ensure the efficient, safe, compliant, and effective operation of all clinical and laboratory activities.
  • Assists with the setup and preparation of the clinic hosting the ADEX clinical examination.
  • Meets with sales representatives and maintains professional relationships.
  • Attends program meetings as required.
  • Assists with printing, proctoring tests, and running Gradescope results for faculty.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Two to five years’ experience in a dental setting.
  • Dental assistant preferred.
  • Certification in CPR Healthcare Provider.
  • Training in infection-control protocols and OSHA compliance.
  • Experience working in a dental /medical office or clinic.
  • Familiarity using dental office computer software programs.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, sitting, manual dexterity, ability to move between offices and floors of buildings.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to be physically in attendance at designated worksite during scheduled work hours and to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Normal range of vision and hearing (with or without correction).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
