Dentist-2u provides expert, mobile dental care directly to elderly patients living in care homes, removing the need for travel and reducing stress for patients and caregivers. The organisation focuses on compassionate, person-centered care delivered in familiar surroundings. By bringing professional dental services on-site, Dentist-2u helps care homes maintain residents’ oral health and overall well-being. The team works closely with care staff and families to ensure continuity of care and clear communication. Dentist-2u is committed to accessible, high-quality dental support for vulnerable and older adults.

Role Description

The Dental Nurse will support dental practitioners in delivering high-quality dental care to elderly residents in care homes in the Greater Manchester. This is a part-time, on-site role, requiring travel between local care homes to assist with treatments, prepare and maintain clinical areas, and ensure equipment is cleaned and decontaminated according to infection control standards. Qualifications

  • Competence in Infection Control and Decontamination procedures, including sterilization, cross-contamination prevention, and adherence to clinical safety protocols.
  • Recognised dental nursing qualification and current professional registration (e.g., GDC or equivalent), or eligibility and intent to obtain such registration.
  • Ability to work respectfully with elderly and vulnerable patients, demonstrating patience, empathy, and clear communication with residents, families, and care staff.
  • Good organisational skills, reliability in maintaining records and managing equipment, and the ability to work effectively in a small, mobile clinical team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety requirements in healthcare settings; experience in care homes is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport for travel between care homes across Greater Manchester area.
