Apprentice Level 3 Dental Nurse
We are currently offering an apprentice Level 3 Dental Nurse to work at our Sutton Coldfield practice. The candidate will need to be caring, professional, and dedicated. You will help us deliver the highest standards of patient care, and this position will be a great opportunity to join a great team with plenty of scope for career progression.
What you'll do at work:
- Ensure completion of your regulated and certified Dental Nursing qualification under the guidance of the Lead Dental Nurse
- Attend all college sessions in pursuit of qualification completion
- Keep the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy, and sterile as appropriate and according to the practice’s health and safety and infection control procedures and manufacturers' instructions
- Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and ensure that they are maintained regularly and in good working order
- Provide chairside assistance, ensuring that the correct equipment is available
- Ensure the care and welfare of patients

What you'll learn
Course contents
Knowledge and Skills Gained:
- Understanding of dental anatomy, infection control, oral health promotion, and clinical procedures
- Practical experience providing chairside support, preparing equipment, and assisting with patient care
- Competence in record-keeping, handling materials, and following health and safety regulations (e.g., PPE, COSHH, cross-infection control)
- Communication skills for interacting effectively with patients and the dental team
Training schedule
You will work towards achieving the Level 3 Dental Nurse Apprenticeship Standard, a qualification approved by the General Dental Council (GDC) for entry to the professional register as a Dental Nurse.
You will undertake online learning one day a week with hands-on, hands-on clinical training in our in-house dental suite at Matthew Boulton College.

Please ensure that you have researched your travel arrangements and are happy with the time it will take and distance required to travel, before you apply for this vacancy. Please be aware the successful applicant will be required to complete an up-to-date DBS check as well as consent to vaccinations in Hepatitis B, including a blood test before beginning the apprenticeship.
