Dental Officer - Paediatric & Special Care Dentistry (Band A)

Permanent post

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 1.0 WTE (0.6 Paediatrics and 0.4 Special Care Dentistry)
  • Full or part-time applications welcome

SALARY £54,117 - £81,174 (pro rata if part-time)

Lothian Public Dental Service is looking for a Dental Officer to work with our excellent teams providing high quality care for children and adults with additional needs living in Lothian.

You will undertake routine dental care for children and adults with a wide range of disability and impairment who cannot receive their care in the General Dental Service. You will provide dental care for patients with high levels of dental disease and dental anxiety who are referred by General Dental Practitioners and other health and social care workers.

Treatment is often provided under general anaesthesia or conscious sedation and may also be delivered in a domiciliary setting.

We are part of the Lothian Oral Health Service which includes consultant led hospital services based in the Edinburgh Dental Institute and the Oral Health Improvement Team.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues in the Public Dental Service and be supported by the senior team.

You should be able to demonstrate experience in working with children and vulnerable adults and have a keen interest in developing your skills in these areas.
