Join our Team! We are excited to be recruiting a full-time Dental Receptionist to join our team at Roxburgh Dental Practice. The hours for the position will be 08:30 - 16:30, Mon-Fri.

Roxburgh Dental Practice, located in Galashiels, is a family-friendly dentist providing dental care for adults and children both under the NHS and privately. The practice itself is located very close to the town centre, and has great access to public transport and amenities such as shops and cafes.

Your Role In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering a high standard of front-of-house service, ensuring every patient receives a warm, professional experience that reflects our practice values. You'll also support the team in maintaining compliance with all relevant health and safety procedures.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting patients in a friendly and welcoming manner, helping them feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
  • Using Software of Excellence effectively to keep patient records accurate, up to date, and well maintained.
  • Handling incoming telephone enquiries, booking appointments, and processing patient payments.
  • Keeping the reception area clean, organised, and presentable to create a positive first impression and reinforce confidence in the practice.
  • Coordinating clinicians' appointment schedules to maximise surgery efficiency, support productivity, and ensure patients can access appointments that meet their needs.

About You Previous experience in a dental practice is desirable, although not essential.

  • Experience working in a busy reception or customer-facing role.
  • Confident IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • A genuine commitment to providing outstanding patient care and creating a positive experience for every visitor.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a supportive team.
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to develop new skills and grow within the role.
