Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Dental Therapist role based in Lowestoft. The Dental Therapist will provide a range of preventive and restorative treatments within their scope of practice, including scaling and polishing, fillings on prescribed teeth, and oral health education. - Assessing patients
- Carrying out treatment plans under direct access
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
- Ensuring adherence to infection prevention and control protocols

The role involves working closely with dentists, dental nurses, and reception teams to:
- Manage appointment schedules
- Support patient flow
- Promote a reassuring, inclusive experience for all patients
The Dental Therapist will also contribute to patient recall programs, support practice quality initiatives, and participate in clinical audits and ongoing training as required.
Qualifications
- Recognized qualification in Dental Therapy and current registration with the General Dental Council (or equivalent professional body).
- Demonstrated competence in providing preventive and restorative treatments, including periodontal care and routine fillings within scope of practice.
- Strong patient communication skills, with the ability to explain treatment options clearly and deliver effective oral health education to diverse patient groups.
- Commitment to high standards of infection prevention and control, record keeping, and adherence to clinical guidelines and practice policies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, manage a full-time clinical workload, and adapt to a busy practice environment.
- Experience in NHS and/or private dental settings is beneficial, along with familiarity with dental practice management systems.
- Ongoing commitment to continuing professional development and openness to supervision, feedback, and skills enhancement.
