Department Manager
At Penderels Trust, we support people with disabilities to live independently. We have an exciting opportunity for a Department Manager to join us and to support our Financial Money Management Department, who provide an Appointeeship service to our customers.
Location: (Hybrid working) Penderels Trust, Resource House, 1A Brandon Lane, Coventry, CV3 3GU
Salary: £37,605 per annum (cost of living increase pending)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Days & Times: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

The Role
As a Department Manager, your main duties will include:
- Leading and managing the Financial Money Management Department, ensuring high-quality service delivery
- Understanding and following local and company safeguarding procedures
- Participating in the recruitment and induction of new staff, identifying requirements for development and growth.
- Conducting team meetings and regular 1-2-1’s with staff and addressing any performance concerns promptly.
- Maintaining oversight of caseload allocation, workflow management, and service capacity.
- Ensuring staff follow agreed processes, policies, and contractual requirements
- Leading on quality assurance, including regular checks of budgets, financial assessments, trackers and case reviews
- Delivering presentations and training sessions
- Working in partnership with all Council / Integrated Care Service / Boards that sit within the department
- Attending contract review meetings, providing updates and responding to commissioner queries
- Ensuring the department meets KPI’s and service standards
- Preparing and presenting statistical information, performance reports and management data
- Reporting GDPR Breaches, Safeguarding issues, Health and Safety matters to Regional and Senior Manager
- Managing the budget for the Financial Money Management Department
- The role may also include other projects and tasks as required by the business.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
- GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Previous supervisory or management experience, including staff performance management and development, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop individuals and teams.
- Experience of preparing, analysing and presenting reports, statistics and management information, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and produce accurate performance reports.
- Experience of working within contractual requirements, delivering against key performance indicators (KPIs), and implementing and maintaining operational processes, quality standards and audit requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and case management systems.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, make sound decisions, prioritise competing demands and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, accountable and adaptable, with the resilience to respond positively to change while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Committed to delivering high-quality services and positive outcomes for customers and stakeholders, with a flexible and collaborative approach to supporting colleagues and wider organisational objectives.
- Due to the nature of the role, the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
