Deployed AI Engineer / Elite Engineering Team / London

A well-funded defence AI startup is looking for an exceptional AI Engineer to join one of the UK's strongest engineering teams, building the software that will power the next generation of autonomous systems.

This is a rare opportunity to work alongside world-class engineers, AI researchers, and founders solving genuinely difficult technical problems at the intersection of agentic AI, large language models, robotics, and distributed systems. What they're looking for:

  • Commercial experience building production AI or machine learning systems
  • Strong software engineering skills with Python, Rust, C++, or Java
  • Experience with LLMs, agentic AI, RAG, or modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
  • Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and AI system architecture
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and a passion for building production-ready AI products
  • MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Engineering, or another highly quantitative discipline

  • Experience building AI agents using LangGraph, MCP, or similar orchestration frameworks
  • MLOps, model deployment, and production AI infrastructure
  • Computer Vision, multimodal AI, or robotics experience
  • Publications, open-source contributions, or research in machine learning
  • Experience building AI for highly regulated or mission-critical environments
