The role
This company builds AI software for the defence of democracies. Their mission is to ensure open societies can make sovereign decisions, by achieving technological leadership. They integrate advanced AI with existing hardware to process real-time sensor data across operational domains. Backed by leading investors and with significant funding, they've grown rapidly across Europe, attracting top engineering talent from leading tech companies.
This isn't a pure research role. You'll be a Deployed AI Engineer, the critical link between state-of-the-art AI and complex real-world systems. You'll embed with customer avionics engineers, dissecting unfamiliar databases, network protocols, and APIs within aircraft mission-control systems. Your mission: build the adapters that connect these legacy systems to cloud infrastructure, owning the integration outcome end-to-end. This is a rare seat for an engineer who thrives on making cutting-edge software work in the most challenging, high-stakes environments.

The work
- Dissect complex, often legacy, customer systems: avionics, mission-control, unfamiliar databases, network protocols.
- Engineer robust adapters to bridge these systems with cloud-native AI infrastructure.
- Own the full integration lifecycle, from formalising requirements with product teams to shipping features directly to users.
- Coordinate and lead technology demonstrations, showcasing AI capabilities in simulations and real-world operational systems.
What You Bring
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Deep experience with C++, Java, Rust, or similar, alongside scripting in Python or Bash.
- Proven ability to navigate and configure Linux systems, network stacks, and database systems.
- A genuine drive to reverse-engineer complex, unfamiliar systems and make legacy infrastructure work.
- Comfort working directly with customers and partners, often on-site, to understand and solve problems.
