Senior Deployment Lead

Location: Ireland / UK / Spain — remote/home-based, with extensive global travel to deployment sites

Department: Infrastructure — Physical Data Centre Deployments (GPU)

Reporting to: Chief Infrastructure Officer

ABOUT NEXGEN CLOUD

NexGen Cloud is the company behind Hyperstack, a full-stack AI cloud serving tens of thousands of customers from AI researchers to enterprises running the world's most compute-intensive workloads. We deliver on-demand and private GPU infrastructure to teams who treat performance as a requirement, not a feature.

We're a tight-knit, fast-moving team working at the cutting edge of AI cloud infrastructure. We practice what we preach, equipping our people with AI at every level so we can solve harder problems, ship faster, and keep raising the bar for what enterprise GPU infrastructure looks like.

THE ROLE: SENIOR DEPLOYMENT LEAD

NexGen Cloud's GPU data centre build pipeline is expanding, and right now there is no single owner taking a site from delivered hardware through to a live, production-ready cluster. This role exists to give the deployment function a dedicated, senior owner before the pipeline outgrows the current ad hoc approach — you'll have direct ownership over deployment planning and scheduling, on-site build execution, contractor management, and commissioning and handover for every new GPU site NexGen brings online.

This is a role for someone who wants to build a function from scratch rather than inherit someone else's playbook — hands-on, genuinely global, and with real decision-making authority as the most senior person on-site.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Rather than a long checklist, here's what success in this role looks like:

  • Own the end-to-end deployment plan, schedule, and risk register for each new GPU data centre build, from hardware delivery through to production handover
  • Lead on-site racking, cabling, and installation of GPU servers, networking, and power/cooling infrastructure, directing contractor crews where used
  • Run commissioning and acceptance testing on newly built GPU clusters, and define go-live acceptance criteria in coordination with Network Engineering and Data Centre Operations
  • Manage day-to-day performance of on-site electrical, mechanical, and cabling contractors against schedule, quality, and safety standards
  • Act as the on-the-ground point of contact for Network Engineering during cutover, and keep Sales and Customer Success informed on go-live timelines
  • Build the discipline that doesn't yet exist: a live risk register per deployment, and a standard playbook that improves with every build
  • Feed deployment status and risk updates to the Chief Infrastructure Officer on a regular, owned cadence

ABOUT YOU

We're more interested in how you think and work than in a perfect CV. You'll likely bring a combination of the following:

Essential

  • Proven experience leading physical deployments of GPU clusters specifically (e.g. NVIDIA DGX/HGX platforms) — general-purpose data centre hardware deployment alone is not sufficient
  • Hands-on experience with high-density GPU rack power and cooling requirements, structured cabling, and server racking fundamentals
  • Experience with InfiniBand or high-speed Ethernet fabric installation and commissioning as part of a GPU cluster build
  • A track record managing on-site contractors or vendor delivery teams against schedule and quality standards
  • Comfortable working independently on-site with minimal day-to-day supervision, making sound calls under time pressure, and genuinely willing and able to travel globally at short notice for extended periods
