About The Role
At Uber, we're committed to accelerating the transition to autonomous vehicles. The Global AV Infrastructure team plays a pivotal role in expanding infrastructure access to support Uber's ambitious autonomous and electrification goals. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Deployment Manager to lead the design, permitting, power delivery, construction, and site readiness of charging and maintenance infrastructure for autonomous vehicles. This role will focus on fast-charging stations and maintenance depots in core city centres across Europe, with initial launches starting in the UK.
What You'll Do
- Lead infrastructure projects from site due diligence, permitting, utility coordination, power upgrades, contractor selection, construction, commissioning, and handoff to operations teams.
- Conduct technical assessments of selected sites, including utility capacity, planning pathways, constructibility, site access, environmental constraints, and compliance with Uber's infrastructure requirements.
- Lead utility coordination and power-upgrade planning and energisation.
- Collaborate with internal and external design and engineering teams to develop optimised site layouts, construction packages, and equipment specifications.
- Manage contractor procurement and selection, including scopes of work, requests for proposals, bid evaluations, project budgets, and construction schedules.
- Oversee construction activities, including schedule, budget, quality, safety, change management, testing, commissioning, and resolution of field issues.
- Maintain budgets, schedules, and milestone forecasts, and provide clear updates to internal stakeholders.

What You'll Have
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure deployment, design management, permitting, utility coordination, construction management, or related fields.
- Proven track record of managing infrastructure projects end to end.
- Strong understanding of permitting, utility planning, electrical infrastructure, design development, and construction processes.
- Experience managing general contractors, utilities, and equipment vendors across multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively across complex stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency with design and project management tools such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Procore, or similar platforms.
- Ability to interpret and apply AC and DC power systems, including transformers, switchgear, circuit protection, and single-line electrical and mechanical diagrams.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or electrical engineering, construction management, architecture, design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Self-starter who is highly organized, motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Ability to travel frequently, up to 25% within Europe.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure deployment, design management, utility coordination, construction management, or related fields.
- Experience developing and deploying fast-charging EV infrastructure, maintenance depots, electrical infrastructure, or transportation and mobility infrastructure.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with executives, utility partners, city officials, contractors, consultants, vendors, and technical teams.
