Are you a highly experienced Infrastructure Engineer looking for a move?

Sopra Steria’s Aerospace, Defence and Security sector are recruiting for a Deployment and Monitoring Engineer with expertise in Linux and automation technologies to join a team supporting a key client in the defence sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly technical individual to come in and make the role their own, supporting with strategy and technical direction moving forward. If you have a solid grounding in Linux and penchant for Automation using Ansible and Terraform then this one is for you.

This role would be based on site in the office in Farnborough.

Due to the nature of the projects we are working on, we are only able to progress with candidates eligible for DV clearance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintenance of several domains in a multi-tenancy private cloud environment with an automation first mindset
  • Looking after the patching, configuration, and deployment of the Linux estate ensuring that it is compliant with various frameworks and addressing vulnerabilities that may arise within the supply chain.
  • Develop effective automation strategy using Ansible and Terraform
  • Engage with Senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage deliverables in a highly pressurised, secure environment

  • General Linux System Administration & Management (RHEL & Debian)
  • Red Hat Satellite
  • Ansible & Terraform for Automation
  • Bash & Python Scripting
  • Good Stakeholder engagement and customer facing skills
