Why does this role matter?
As a Deployment Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of Exotec's robotic automation solutions across the UK. Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, you will manage complex deployment projects from contract signature through go-live, ensuring exceptional customer experience, strong project performance, and successful operational outcomes.
What You'll Do
Lead end-to-end deployment projects
- Own warehouse robotics and automation deployment projects from kick-off to customer acceptance.
- Define project execution strategies, governance, schedules, resources, and milestones.
- Ensure delivery of contractual commitments, project objectives, and customer expectations.
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, profitability, and financial reporting.

Drive customer relationships
- Act as the trusted advisor and main point of contact for customers throughout the deployment lifecycle.
- Lead steering committees, project reviews, executive updates, and stakeholder communications.
- Build strong relationships with customer teams from operational managers through to senior leadership.
Coordinate operational execution
- Work closely with Engineering, Integration, Operations, and Commissioning teams to ensure successful deployment.
- Coordinate installation and commissioning activities to achieve technical and operational milestones.
- Support system testing, acceptance processes, and operational readiness activities.
Manage risks and project governance
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks throughout execution.
- Maintain project risk registers and escalation plans.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when required.
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage change requests and project variations.
Oversee external partners
- Manage subcontractors and third-party suppliers involved in project delivery.
- Lead RFQ, qualification, and vendor selection processes.
- Ensure partner performance aligns with project requirements and quality standards.

Requirements
Experience & Technical Background
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of project management experience in warehouse automation, robotics, logistics, industrial equipment, intralogistics, material handling.
- Proven experience delivering complex customer-facing projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, risks, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
