Responsibilities
About the Team & Business Line
Citco Custody (UK) Limited (CCUK) provides depositary and custody services to Citco Funds Services clients with over $45bn in net assets. Operating in strategic global centers, Citco Fund Services provides clients with access to best of breed processes and technology of which CCUK plays an important role.
As a core member of our Senior Depositary Management team, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to minimize operational risks and ensure our clients experience a seamless delivery of all elements of our depositary and custody services.
Your Role
- Establish and maintain appropriate control environment to ensure the CCUK fulfills its depositary obligations to the highest standards in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, maintaining consistent adherence to global procedures across the depositary business.
- Maintain comprehensive oversight of all Depositary related tasks across clients and teams, ensuring effective teamwork, strategic planning, cross-training, and collaboration to drive operational excellence.
- Manage operational teams performing review and sign-offs on all Depositary related work including NAV reviews, cash flow monitoring, safekeeping of assets, and investment compliance reviews.
- Work closely with Group Sales and Marketing team to promote and win new business to meet objectives of the Depositary department and the Citco Group.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure error/breaches are recorded and resolved in a timely manner, as well as ensure prompt escalation to management of any issues.
- Work with clients to resolve queries and escalate any issues, building client relationships.
- Keep informed of changes to local and international rules and regulations and ensure these are communicated to the senior management team and regular training sessions on requirements are provided to all staff.
- Support the development and retention of a high-performing Management Team by driving the career progression of senior staff in accordance with group policy, while championing the training, motivation, and growth of the wider team to cultivate a positive working environment.
- Provide KPI & KRI reporting to Senior management, as well as assisting in the preparation of quarterly Risk & Compliance Committee and board reports.
- Assist with compilation of material for SOC testing, on-site reviews, and annual audit.
- Participate in and lead projects to ensure the continued development and evolution of the business and ensure all automation being considered by the Depositary Business is suitable for CCUK.
- Monitor the performance of outsourcing providers both Depositary and custody against agreed (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support the CASS Oversight Officer in fulfilling regulatory obligations, ensuring the safeguarding and segregation of client assets in accordance with FCA CASS rules.
- Interact with Group Compliance in relation to queries and the delivery of the compliance monitoring plan.
- Participate in the on-site inspections of AIFM, administrators, and ongoing due diligence of sub-custodians.
- Proactively manage risk mitigation and promote a strong risk awareness culture.

About You
- Third level business / finance qualification and a minimum of 20 years’ fund industry experience with 7 - 10 years in senior management roles.
- Previous experience of working in the Hedge Fund / Private Equity, Real Estate Alternative Fund Industry.
- Expert knowledge on complex fund / asset structure for Private Equity and Real Estate Funds.
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements governing Depositary business under UK AIFMD / FCA FUNDS sourcebook / CASS rules.
- Strong team management experience with a proven track record of managing operational teams with a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal effectiveness.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Previous experience managing projects to successful implementation.
- Able to demonstrate a drive for results and sensible decision making within a challenging environment.
