Job Introduction

Reporting into the Depot Manager and liaising with the Fleet Disposal Manager, our Depot Fleet Disposal Engineers play an integral role within our self-sufficient workshops. As such, you’ll be responsible for the repair, servicing, and preparation of used plant equipment consisting of telehandlers, Roto telehandlers, and heavy lift telehandlers of varying sizes, including a range of associated attachments through their end-of-life cycle.

This role would be suitable for light to heavy goods vehicle engineers who wish to gain exceptional knowledge, to develop their skill set, and career into mobile plant engineering on a variety of different manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely repair and prepare end-of-life plant and attachments to a high standard and in a timely manner, following the company policies, procedures, and set KPI’s.
  • Load or assist in the loading of used equipment onto arranged curtain-sider transport ready for delivery.
  • Assist with the necessary legal export documentation with the support of the Fleet Disposal Manager.
  • Ensure environmentally responsible disposal practices are followed for the disposal of hazardous material such as oils, tyres, and electrical/battery items.
  • When considered necessary or appropriate by management, you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business.

What We’re Looking For

  • Transferable mechanical background into plant engineering and repairs/preparation.
  • Able to transition into plant engineering with on-the-job training.
  • Knowledge of plant equipment desirable but not essential.
  • “Can do” and “right first time” approach.
  • Service, repair, and prepare telescopic forklift trucks and attachments.
  • Good communicator and team player.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Able to photograph and document job cards with the use of PDA/Tablet.
  • To be self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative or part of a team.
  • Have the capacity for learning new skills/information quickly.
  • Have a flexible attitude towards working additional hours as required.
  • Prepared to take on additional training.
