Role Description

This full-time, on-site Depot Manager role is based in Sutton and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the equipment hire depot. The Depot Manager oversees stock levels, equipment availability, through an extensive collection of hire equipment. The role includes:

  • Ensuring consistent, high-quality customer service to our clients
  • Monitoring health and safety standards
  • Maintaining a clean and safe depot environment

Qualifications

  • Strong operations management skills, including planning, coordination, and depot workflow oversight.
  • Experience in stock management, including inventory control, equipment tracking, and reorder processes.
  • Proven team management abilities, such as leading staff, organizing rotas, coaching, and performance monitoring.
  • Solid understanding of health & safety practices in an equipment hire or similar operational environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and customers.
  • Basic IT proficiency for using hire software, inventory systems, and standard office applications.
  • Previous experience in equipment hire, logistics, or a related industry is desirable.
  • Relevant vocational training or qualifications in operations, management, or health & safety would be beneficial.
