We're pleased to be working with a well-established food business on the appointment of an Operations Manager / Depot Manager / Warehouse Manager for their South London depot.
This is a night shift role, running the operation from the early hours through to approx midday. You'll own the depot, from people management, the stock, the processes, and the critical window each morning where the vans need to leave on time, loaded correctly, every day.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the night shift operation at the depot, from approx. 3am through to midday
- Managing the loading and dispatch of the multi-drop delivery fleet, with vans out on the road between 5am and 7am
- Overseeing stock accuracy, rotation, and cold chain compliance across chilled and frozen product
- Managing, motivating and developing the warehouse and driver teams on shift
- Driving continuous improvement across picking accuracy, load planning, and route efficiency
- Working closely with sales, transport and technical teams to ensure customer orders are delivered in full and on time
- Maintaining a clean, safe and compliant operation in line with food safety and H&S standards

What we’re looking for
- A background as a Depot Manager, Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager or similar, within food, chilled, FMCG or a comparable fast-paced distribution environment
- Proven experience managing a multi-drop delivery operation and hitting tight morning dispatch windows
- Strong people management skills, you'll be leading a team when most of the world is asleep
- A hands-on, organised approach with the confidence to make decisions quickly under time pressure
