Role Description
This full-time Depot Sales Manager role is based in Chandlers Ford, Southampton on a hybrid working pattern, with some work from home possible.
The Depot Sales Manager will oversee new business sales activities for the local depot, driving new business acquisition and revenue growth within the region. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and targeting prospective customers, managing a pipeline of opportunities, preparing proposals and pricing, and negotiating contracts for DX’s Express parcel services.

The role will collaborate closely with operations, customer service, and senior management to ensure service delivery aligns with customer expectations and supports depot performance targets.

The Depot Sales Manager will also monitor market trends, support key account retention, and provide regular reporting and forecasting to contribute to the depot’s overall commercial strategy.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in B2B/B2C sales, preferably within logistics, transport, parcel, or related service industries.
- Strong relationship-building and account management skills, with the ability to nurture new and existing customer partnerships.
- Commercial awareness and negotiation skills, including experience in pricing, proposals, and contract discussions.
- Ability to analyse sales data, prepare accurate forecasts, and report on performance against targets.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage decision-makers at various levels.
- Organisational and time-management skills, including managing multiple opportunities and priorities across a region.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, collaborating with depot teams on-site in Chandlers Ford/Southampton and remotely when appropriate.
- Working knowledge of CRM systems and common office productivity tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentations).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and remain resilient in a target-driven environment.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally for customer visits and meetings.
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience within a sales team or depot environment is an advantage.
