📍 Belfast | 💰 Salary: Up to £46,500 (Dependant on experience)

We're looking for an experienced Depot Transport Manager to join our Belfast team and play a key role in driving operational excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction.

The Role
As the Depot Transport Manager (DTM), you will be responsible for leading the depot transport operation, ensuring it operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

As a key holder on the Depot Operator Licence, you will oversee fleet compliance, driver performance, transport planning, and operational costs, while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Working closely with depot leadership teams, you will ensure the transport operation delivers against key people, service, quality, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of drivers, fostering a positive and safety-focused culture.
- Manage transport budgets, fleet utilisation, and resource planning in line with forecasted volumes.
- Control driver-related costs while maintaining service and quality targets.
- Ensure all vehicles, trailers, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards through regular audits and compliance checks.
- Deliver effective transport plans for both business-as-usual operations and peak periods, ensuring contingency plans are in place.
- Monitor transport costs, maintenance expenditure, repairs, and operational productivity, working closely with the Depot General Manager.
- Conduct accident and incident investigations promptly and professionally, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Maintain full compliance across all transport activities, including:
- Operator Licence requirements
- Driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations
- Vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules
- Tachograph management and downloads
- Driver CPC, MHE, and Manual Handling training records
- Drive continuous improvement across safety, service, and operational performance.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- ✅ Transport Manager CPC (National Certificate)
- ✅ Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a Transport Management role
- ✅ Strong knowledge of:
- Transport compliance and legislation
- Driver hours regulations
- Working Time Directive (WTD)
- Operator Licence requirements
- ✅ Experience managing transport operations within a fast-paced, 24/7 environment
- ✅ Experience leading and developing diverse teams
- ✅ Strong knowledge of transport management systems and tachograph analysis
- ✅ Experience managing Drug & Alcohol testing programmes
- ✅ Full UK Driving Licence
