Description

Venue Operations is a fast-paced team responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of Silverstone throughout the year. The Accreditation team plays a critical role in maintaining controlled site access by managing the application, approval, production, and distribution of accreditation for employees, event partners, contractors, and other authorized stakeholders.

The team supports Silverstone's major events as well as year-round operational access, ensuring that the accreditation process is delivered accurately, securely, and in line with the requirements of the business and its event partners.

To support the Accreditation Officer in the effective delivery and management of Silverstone's accreditation and access control operation for all public events, major events, and year-round site access.

The role will assist with the management of accreditation applications, approvals, pass production, and distribution, ensuring that access is issued accurately and efficiently and supports the safe and successful delivery of Silverstone's events and day-to-day operations.

The Deputy Accreditation Officer will also provide operational support to the Accreditation Officer and take responsibility for agreed areas of the accreditation operation when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Accreditation Officer in the day-to-day management of Silverstone's accreditation system and processes.
  • Assist with the delivery of accreditation and access control for all events held at Silverstone.
  • Liaise with internal departments to understand and manage their accreditation and access requirements.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, event partners, contractors, and other authorized organizations regarding their accreditation requirements.
  • Manage and process accreditation applications for companies and individuals in accordance with Silverstone's processes and requirements.
  • Produce, manage, and distribute staff and event partner accreditation for events and year-round access.
  • Support the administration and operation of Silverstone's accreditation software and associated digital accreditation processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the accreditation system.
  • Ensure all accreditation issued meets the required standards and that appropriate checks and approvals have been completed.
  • Support the management of accreditation quotas, access requirements, and stakeholder allocations where required.
  • Assist with the operation of the Accreditation Office during event periods.
  • Provide support during event build, live event, and derig periods as required.
  • Assist with resolving accreditation and access issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support continuous improvement of the accreditation process, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, customer experience, and operational delivery.

Team Responsibilities

  • Ensure all accreditation activity complies with applicable data protection and information-security requirements.
  • Adhere to all Silverstone Health & Safety, Security, Privacy & Confidentiality, and other relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling personal and business information.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Venue Operations and the wider business.
  • Be available to work during Silverstone's major event season, including evenings and weekends where operationally required.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

Performance Responsibilities

Performance will be monitored against the following:

  • Timely processing of accreditation applications and requests and effective and timely resolution of accreditation and access issues.
  • Delivery of accreditation requirements within agreed event timelines.
  • Compliance with Silverstone's accreditation, access control, data protection, Health & Safety, and Security processes.
  • Contribution to the continuous improvement of accreditation processes and systems.
  • Ability to maintain operational standards during busy and high-pressure event periods.

  • Internal departments and teams (Safety, Security, IT, Events, BGP, Corporate, P&C)
  • External partners and contractors
  • Events stakeholders (F1, MotoGP, and other major events)

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Previous experience working within major events, venue operations, or a similar fast-paced environment is desirable.
  • Previous experience using accreditation, access control, or event management systems is desirable.
  • Good knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other bespoke software systems.
  • Strong administration and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a logical, structured, and consistent manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and extended event periods.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when working in a busy, high-pressure environment.
  • A proactive approach, with a willingness to identify and implement improvements to processes and ways of working.
