Deputy Business Unit Manager

Are you an experienced operational leader looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced port environment? Are you passionate about driving safety, operational excellence, and team performance while delivering outstanding service to customers? We are seeking a Deputy Business Unit Manager to support the leadership and success of our operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and commercially effective delivery of services across the business unit.

Your Role

As Deputy Business Unit Manager, you will support the delivery of operational, commercial, and financial performance across a multi-functional port operation. Working closely with the Business Unit Manager, you will drive a strong safety culture, lead and develop teams, improve operational efficiency, and ensure excellent customer service. You will play a key role in achieving business objectives through effective stakeholder management, performance monitoring, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and the delivery of revenue and profitability targets.

What you'll bring

  • Proven leadership and coaching experience
  • Ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong communicator and collaborative team player
  • Experience in driving health, safety and environmental standards
  • Experience in leading change initiatives and delivering operational and commercial objectives
  • Experience working with Trade Unions (desirable)
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (advantageous)
