About The Deputy Manager Role

Within your role as the Deputy Care Manager, you can make a significant difference to the residents' lives. Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring standards of care delivered by qualified and unqualified care staff.
  • Preparing the staff duty rota to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times.
  • Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changes impacting care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Acting as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are promptly investigated and dealt with appropriately.
  • Liaising with the Home Manager across the range of operational activity to be able to assume responsibility for managing the Home during the manager's scheduled and unscheduled absences.
  • Contributing fully to team working, responding positively to colleagues and acting on all reasonable work instructions promptly.

About You

You will support the Home Manager across all aspects of Home Management, providing a safe, caring, stimulating, and homely environment for residents and their visitors. We would love to hear from those who really want to make a difference to people's lives:

  • You will already be a Deputy Manager or have at least 2 years' experience as a or Team Leader in Care.
  • You have strong leadership skills & are highly motivated.
  • You are able to engage well with the residents and their families.
  • You have strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • You have experience of working with people with Dementia.
  • You have an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social care.
  • Having an NVQ Level 5 is a great advantage or being willing to work towards this.
