Deputy Care Home Manager

  • £14.90 per hour | Full Time (40 Hours) | Monday-Friday with Occasional Weekend Cover

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Care Home Manager to join our dedicated team at Towy Castle Care Home.

Situated in beautiful grounds overlooking the Towy Estuary, Towy Castle provides high-quality residential and dementia care in a warm, welcoming environment where residents are at the heart of everything we do.

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you'll play a key role in leading the home, supporting our team and ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional person-centred care. The role is full time, 40 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday with occasional weekend cover.

About the Role

As Deputy Care Home Manager, you'll work closely with the Registered Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the home, providing leadership, guidance and support to the wider team while maintaining the highest standards of care.

You'll help create a positive, supportive environment for both residents and colleagues, ensuring people receive compassionate, high-quality care that promotes dignity, independence and choice.

Your Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home.
  • Leading, motivating and developing the care team.
  • Acting as Manager in the Registered Manager's absence.
  • Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision and staff development.
  • Ensuring high standards of residential and dementia care are maintained.
  • Overseeing care planning, risk assessments and medication management.
  • Supporting compliance with CIW standards, safeguarding and health & safety requirements.
  • Building positive relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
  • Supporting audits, quality improvement and continuous service development.

Essential

  • NVQ/QCF Level 4 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years' management or leadership experience within adult social care (preferred).
  • Experience managing clinical care across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of supporting older people, including those living with dementia.

Desirable

  • Previous Deputy Manager or leadership experience within a care home.
  • Knowledge of CIW regulations and standards.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Location

Towy Castle Care Home is located near Carmarthen and is easily commutable from Llanelli, Llandeilo, Ammanford, Cross Hands, Kidwelly, St Clears, Whitland and the surrounding areas.

Please note the home is in a rural location with limited public transport. Applicants should ensure they can travel reliably to and from work.
