Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer (DCDIO)
Salary: £79,504 - £91,609 per annum (Band 8c)
Location: Shropshire – hybrid working (minimum 3 days on-site)
Contract: 6-month, Fixed-Term Contract
Overview of the Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer role
Sellick Partnership is working in partnership with The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RJAH), who are seeking an experienced Deputy Chief Digital and Information Officer (DCDIO) to join their senior leadership team.
Reporting directly to the Chief Digital and Information Officer, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering the Trust's digital vision, ensuring high-quality, resilient and innovative digital and information services that support both patient care and organisational performance.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation at a pivotal stage of its digital transformation journey. The Deputy CDIO will help drive strategic change, champion innovation and use technology, data and insight to improve outcomes across the Trust and position RJAH as a leader in digital healthcare.
Key responsibilities of the Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer
- Supporting the Chief Digital and Information Officer in delivering the Trust's digital strategy and roadmap
- Providing leadership across Digital and Information Services, ensuring high-quality, secure and resilient services
- Leading major digital transformation initiatives, continual service improvement programmes and organisational change activities
- Developing strong relationships with clinical, operational and executive stakeholders to drive digital innovation and service excellence
- Acting as Deputy Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) and supporting cyber security, information governance and organisational resilience activities
- Driving improvements in data and analytics capability to support evidence-based decision making and clinical excellence
- Leading on governance, risk management, service management and assurance frameworks across digital services
- Managing significant budgets, business cases and investment decisions to maximise value and support strategic objectives
- Deputising for the Chief Digital and Information Officer across internal and external meetings, boards and governance forums

Required experience/qualifications of the Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer position
- Master's degree or equivalent senior leadership experience
- Relevant management, leadership or specialist technical qualification
- Expert-level service management qualification (such as ITIL) or equivalent experience
- Significant experience leading complex digital, technology or information services within a large organisation
- Experience delivering service improvements and digital transformation programmes within complex environments
- Broad technical knowledge across one or more areas including IT operations, architecture, cyber security, data and analytics, infrastructure or information governance
- Proven experience managing large budgets, business planning processes and business case development
- Strong leadership, coaching and people management experience
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at executive and board level
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and meaningful business outcomes

Desirable experience/qualifications of the Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer position
- Experience working within the NHS or wider healthcare sector
- Programme or change management qualifications, such as Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)
