About the role
There are fundraising roles. Then there are opportunities to build something extraordinary. Project Yananai is looking for an exceptional Deputy Chief Advancement Officer – Funding & Grants to help build and lead a world-class global fundraising function from the ground up. This isn't about maintaining an existing portfolio. It's about creating one.
Working alongside our Chief Advancement Officer, CEO, and Global Executive Leadership Team, you'll help secure the strategic investment needed to transform communities across India, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe through an ambitious, integrated model of sustainable development.

The Opportunity
We're looking for a genuine player-coach. Someone who is equally comfortable:
- Personally securing six and seven-figure grants.
- Building relationships with institutional donors, trusts, foundations, and corporate partners.
- Leading complex funding proposals.
- Mentoring fundraising professionals across multiple countries.
- Developing a global funding strategy.
- Rolling up their sleeves and getting involved.
This is a strategic leadership role—but it's also a hands-on fundraising role.
About you
- A proven track record of personally securing six and seven-figure funding.
- Extensive experience working with institutional donors, trusts, foundations, corporates, or major philanthropists.
- Strong proposal development and donor stewardship experience.
- Experience developing fundraising strategy rather than simply delivering against one.
- The ability to inspire, mentor, and develop fundraising teams.
- A passion for international development and sustainable community transformation.
