Our client has a strong commitment to Safeguarding and they are seeking a suitably qualified individual to join them as they increase capacity in their team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our client delivers effective safeguarding arrangements in line with Church of England policy, statutory guidance, and best practice.
Role Overview:
As Deputy Diocesan Safeguarding Officer, you will:
- Oversee safeguarding casework
- Manage and develop the safeguarding team
- Contribute to safeguarding improvement and assurance activity
- Deputise for the Director of Safeguarding in their absence

Key Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, guidance, and best practice
- Ability to assess risk and make sound safeguarding decisions
- Significant experience of effectively managing a challenging and complex caseload relating to safeguarding of both children and vulnerable adults
- Demonstrable experience of improving safeguarding practice, culture, or service delivery
Role Details:
- Full-time role (35 hours per week)
- Starting salary of £48,152 with opportunity to move to the top of the band

- Experience of working within the Church of England is not required, but the post holder should be sympathetic to the aims and values of the Church
