We are seeking an exceptional leader to join HMRC as our Deputy Director of Resourcing and Talent. This is a rare opportunity to influence workforce strategy at enterprise scale and help build the skills, capability and leadership needed to deliver one of the government's most significant transformation programmes.
Working directly with senior leaders across HMRC and wider government, you will shape how we attract, develop and retain talent, ensuring we have the people and capabilities required to deliver our strategic objectives and future ambitions.
The opportunity
As a visible enterprise leader, you will lead HMRC's integrated approach to resourcing, talent and apprenticeships, helping to create sustainable pipelines for critical and emerging skills while supporting organisational transformation at scale. Key areas of responsibility include:

- Leading HMRC's enterprise wide resourcing and talent strategy.
- Delivering recruitment across executive, specialist, volume and contingent labour programmes.
- Shaping talent pipelines for critical and scarce capability areas.
- Leading HMRC's apprenticeship strategy and centre of expertise.
- Driving innovation through data, technology and AI.
- Enhancing HMRC's employer brand, attraction and candidate experience.

About you
We are looking for a strategic and forward thinking leader with a strong track record of delivering talent, recruitment, skills or workforce capability strategies within large and complex organisations.

You will bring:
- Significant senior leadership experience in talent acquisition, workforce capability, apprenticeships or a comparable people function.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading through organisational change.
- A strong track record of building diverse talent pipelines aligned to workforce and skills needs.
- Experience delivering large scale recruitment or skills programmes and using data and technology to improve outcomes.
- Strong commercial, governance and risk management capabilities.
