Deputy Divisional General Manager - Urgent and Emergency Care
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated operational leader to join the Urgent and Emergency Care Division as Deputy Divisional General Manager.
This is a key leadership role within a complex and high-profile division covering Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Same Day Emergency Care, and Hospital Out of Hours, working closely with primary care, ambulance services, and system partners.
At a time of significant transformation, you will support the delivery of key priorities including improving emergency access and patient flow, reducing crowding, maintaining ambulance handover performance, strengthening Same Day Emergency Care, and supporting admission avoidance.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Divisional General Manager, Clinical Director, and Director of Nursing.
- Provide operational, strategic, and professional leadership.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
- Support performance management, financial and workforce planning.
- Drive productivity improvement, governance, service transformation, and quality improvement across the Division.
- Deputise for the Divisional General Manager.
- Play a key role in managing escalation and operational issues across all service areas.
