Purpose of the Role

The Project Editor plays a pivotal role in driving the editorial output across BizClik Media’s digital platforms and magazines. The Project Editor supports the Editor in implementing the editorial direction of their portfolio while ensuring the consistent delivery of accurate, engaging, and high-quality content. This role requires a confident and accurate writer, and a proactive content planner with a sharp eye for stories and a passion for audience engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven editorial experience in journalism, publishing, or digital content creation
  • Strong understanding of SEO, B2B content, and editorial workflows
  • Confidence in sourcing, writing, editing, and publishing across channels
  • Demonstrated experience in both digital article writing and digital magazine content

Skills

  • Excellent writing, editing, and grammar skills
  • High attention to detail and deadline management
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and CMS tools
  • Comfortable using analytics dashboards to inform strategy
  • Familiarity with tools like Monday.com (advantageous)

  • Organised, proactive, and editorially curious
  • Confident managing multiple deadlines and working cross-functionally
  • Passionate about storytelling, quality, and business journalism
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced media environment
  • A collaborative team player and occasional public-facing content ambassador

Key Accountabilities

Daily Digital Content

  • Write and publish 6 original daily articles across designated sectors
  • Identify news, trends, and thought leadership opportunities
  • Ensure articles are SEO-aligned, well-structured, and timely
  • Maintain publishing calendars and respond to breaking news
  • Track and analyse article performance using web analytics tools

Magazine Production

  • Plan, assign, and deliver weekly front-of-book magazine features
  • Commission articles from freelance contributors and internal writers
  • Edit and proofread magazine content in alignment with house style and tone
  • Liaise with the design team to ensure smooth layout handover and digital release readiness
  • Uphold quality control across all editorial outputs

Commercial Editorial

  • Collaborate with Sales and Production to produce:
    • Branded company profiles
    • C-suite interviews and executive Q&As
    • Campaign spotlight articles
  • Ensure a strong editorial standard while balancing brand messaging
  • Proof content before handoff to design and sign-off for final publication

Responsibilities

  • Source and pitch original editorial ideas that reflect industry trends and editorial direction
  • Attend industry events, briefings, and virtual roundtables to develop insight and story leads
  • Ensure all content aligns with SEO best practices, platform goals, and publication schedules
  • Support social and digital engagement strategies
  • Deputise for the Editor as required
  • Mentor junior writers and uphold editorial best practices

KPIs

  • 4 web articles per day (2 unique, 2 syndicated)
  • 1 magazine feature per week
  • 1 commercial client profile per week
  • Timely delivery of all assigned magazine content
