About the Role

There is an exciting opportunity within the commissioning finance team at BSMHFT.

Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health, Learning Disabilities & Autism Provider Collaborative (BSOL MHLDAPC) is a partnership between Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) and the third sector represented by the VCFSE Collective.

The BSOL MHPC formally went live on the 1st April 2023 and BSMHFT became the Lead Provider for the new collaborative, taking on the delegated commissioning and contracting responsibilities under a service integrator arrangement with Birmingham & Solihull Integrated Care Board. This includes the responsibility for all age mental health across Birmingham & Solihull.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in providing a comprehensive financial management and business support service to the Provider Collaborative.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible on a day-to-day basis for the management of a small team providing financial planning, reporting, training and business support to the Provider Collaborative in addition to deputising for the Finance Manager in their absence.
  • Support the Finance Manager in providing robust financial planning including financial forecasting and risk assessment.
  • Support the Finance Manager for monitoring the Provider Collaborative financial flows and producing monthly cashflow reconciliations.
  • Responsible for overseeing most of the VCSFE contracts, Section 117 Packages and will be attending Clinical Quality Review Meetings (CQRM’s) to represent finance.
  • Active member of the Finance Directorate contributing to its development.
