Deputy General Manager
Hours: Monday to Friday; 08:00 – 17:00
Aim of Post
The purpose of the Deputy Manager is to act as an ambassador for The Stage delivering an unparalleled level of service in an intuitive and bespoke manner. They will assist the senior management in creating and updating company procedures specific to The Stage and provide supervision, training, and support to all front of house staff. You will be responsible for the delivery of the highest levels of customer service to all residents and their guests and it will be your duty to create memorable experiences and management of day-to-day duties that may involve operation of the Concierge Desk, supervision of the amenity levels and supporting the Estate Management with building matters and monitoring of onsite security.
Role Specific Accountabilities
- Act as line manager for all Front of House staff, including Amenities Concierges.
- Conduct regular performance appraisals with Front of House and Back of House teams.
- Supervise and manage all resident services within The Stage, including concierge operations, valet services and all ground floor amenity spaces.
- Build professional and trusted relationships with residents, delivering exceptional service and supporting lifestyle requests including transport, restaurant and theatre bookings, chauffeur services and dry-cleaning arrangements.
- Conduct required Health & Safety inspections and activities to help maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors and staff.
- Provide cover at the Concierge desk during breaks, absences and staff shortages.
- Ensure the reception area and all common parts of The Stage are always maintained to the highest standard.
- Ensure all residents and visitors are greeted promptly, professionally and courteously.
- Arrange and attend monthly meetings with the Night Team and conduct performance reviews outside office hours when required.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout all Front of House areas, regularly engaging with residents and team members.
- Develop relationships with local businesses to enhance resident services and raise the profile of the development.
- Prepare and submit annual budget information and updates as required.

Requirements
- Proven management experience with a strong track record of leading, developing and managing teams, driving performance, holding staff accountable, and maintaining high standards across all areas of the operation.
- Previous experience in a guest-facing management role, ideally within hospitality, build-to-rent, residential, hotel, or high-end residential environments.
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills and leads from the front by setting clear expectations and standards.
- Experience managing, motivating and developing teams, including performance management, coaching, training and employee engagement.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively, organise projects and prioritise workloads in line with the property's short and long-term objectives.
- Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills.
- Able to take a strategic view of the business while maintaining excellent day-to-day operational oversight.
- Possesses strong commercial awareness and business acumen, with the ability to make sound operational decisions.
- Strong understanding and practical application of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information and sensitive matters professionally and discreetly.
- Service-driven with a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional resident and customer experiences.
- Positive, resilient and professional approach, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Assertive, proactive and able to use initiative, with excellent attention to detail.
- High standard of written and spoken English; additional languages beneficial.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
