Deputy General Manager – Salt Yard Restaurant Group – London

We're now looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy General Manager to join the Salt Yard family and help lead one of our fantastic London restaurants.
The Role
As Deputy General Manager, you'll be the General Manager's right hand, helping drive the restaurant forward while creating a brilliant environment for both our guests and our team.
You'll be hands-on, leading from the front and making sure every service runs smoothly, whether it's a busy Saturday evening, a relaxed weekday lunch or a special occasion.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading and inspiring the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding, personable service.
- Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the restaurant.
- Driving sales, managing costs and maintaining strong commercial performance.
- Building a passionate, knowledgeable team through coaching, training and development.
- Working closely with the Head Chef to deliver a seamless food and drink experience.
- Developing your team's knowledge of our Spanish and Italian menus, wines and cocktails.
- Maintaining exceptional standards across service, presentation and the overall guest experience.
- Taking ownership of the restaurant in the General Manager's absence.

Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who genuinely loves restaurants. Someone who gets excited about great food, enjoys discovering new wines and understands that the smallest details can make the biggest difference to a guest's experience.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience as a Deputy General Manager, Assistant General Manager or a strong Restaurant Manager ready for the next step.
- A background in quality, premium casual dining or high-volume restaurants with a strong food offering.
- A genuine passion for food, wine and hospitality, with an interest in Spanish and Italian cuisine.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire, develop and motivate a team.
- A commercial mindset with a good understanding of sales, labour and stock management.
- The confidence to lead busy services while maintaining a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
- A natural ability to build relationships with guests and create memorable experiences.
