Deputy General Manager - HAC
Searcys are looking for a Deputy General Manager to join the team at the HAC.
As a Deputy General Manager you will be a key leader in the organisation, you will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations, driving business growth and ensuring the overall success of your team and venue. You will have a proven track record in strategic leadership and establishing a positive, nurturing, and inclusive working environment for your team.
The HAC is quite unlike any other City event venue; a magnificent Georgian house set in a five-acre garden. This unique, historic London venue offers a wide variety of event spaces and an a unique outdoor space nestled within the city backdrop.

Job Description
As a Deputy General Manager for Searcys at HAC you will be a key leader in the organisation, you will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations, driving business growth and ensuring the overall success of your team and venue. You will have a proven track record in strategic leadership and establishing a positive, nurturing, and inclusive working environment for your team.
Job Type: Full Time
Salary: £55,000, 45hrs per week
Responsibilities:
- To set an annual budget in line with company targets and to deliver forecasts and yearly targets.
- To monitor monthly and quarterly targets whilst ensuring that you’re on track for delivering full year targets.
- To set the strategic plans for driving profitable sales and improving standards.
- To recruit, motivate, develop and manage the talents within the venue.
- To ensure that all aspect of client and company expectations are communicated to all levels across the venue.
- To build and maintain a solid and professional relationship with the client and other key stakeholders.
- To ensure that Support Office and your Operations Director and other Executive team members receive all appropriate financial information promptly and accurately.
- To ensure that the location meets statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislation and procedures.
- To conduct Food Safety and Health and Safety Risk Assessments and ensure that all standards and procedures with regard to Hygiene and Safety are established and maintained in line with the company manual.
- Offer clear directions and briefings to the management team.
- To ensure compliance in all areas of people management, onboarding and training and staff files to minimise risk to Searcys.
- To ensure that all aspects of client and company expectations are communicated to all levels across the venue.
- To build and maintain a solid and professional relationship with the client and other key stakeholders.
- To ensure that all events and activities are being run to the standards expected by Searcys.
- To ensure effective communication and engagement with the client.

Additional Responsibilities
- To take responsibility for contributing towards your own development with the guidance of the General Manager and to attend training courses as identified.
- To show commitment to company values in all aspects of your role.
- To act as a positive ambassador for the business.
- To attend to any reasonable request made by the client or Searcys Management.
- To attend all health and safety, food safety and environmental management training courses as required.

Qualifications
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience with demonstrable skills and success in leading and developing others.
- 4+ years of experience in the hospitality and events sector.
- Experience in managing a P&L.
- Proven track record of achieving sales and performance targets.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Thorough understanding of the event and meeting management process – conception to completion.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, creative environment and able to work well under pressure.
- Meticulous organisational abilities; high attention to detail.
- Concise and effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective.
- Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills.
