Deputy Head of Corporate Direct Sales, GPS

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Deputy Head of Corporate Direct Sales, GPS. This role can be based out of London, Leicester or Birmingham.

Global Payment Solutions is made up of almost 10,000 people, across more than 60 countries. The business is uniquely positioned to help clients make payments across borders, across currencies and regulations, quickly and efficiently with dedicated country and regional and global support. In this role you will:

  • Support the team in winning new and retaining existing client relationships to maintain existing and generate new income for HSBC
  • Maintain close liaison with key stakeholders so as to provide input to the strategic direction of the business, the functionality and launch of new products and services
  • Grow the business in a sustainable, responsible and compliant manner
  • Retain and grow existing customer portfolios to maintain and increase income to HSBC
  • Look after our customers, aligning to our purpose of being where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper - ultimately helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions
  • Keep stakeholders and line management informed of progress / major obstacles towards progress on Sales performance
  • Lead, develop, coach and motivate the team for success
  • Continually reassess the Sales process through to implementation and work closely with other stakeholders to identify efficiencies

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience working in a Commercial / Corporate banking environment
  • Experience working in a leadership role
  • Proven experience of motivating others to deliver exceptional performance and long terms results
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations
  • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
  • The ability to act as a strategic advisor to customers, having established and built valuable long-term relationships with significant customers
  • A track record of successfully identifying and developing significant/complex business propositions, that attract and entrench customers, in a fair and ethical way

London office relocation: Between January and April 2027, many office-based HSBC employees in London will move from either 8 Canada Square or Queen Victoria Street to one of our new sites at St. Paul’s or Canary Wharf.
