Deputy Head of Faculty - Construction, Engineering & Motor Vehicle Faculty

We are seeking an experienced and inspiring educational leader to join us as Deputy Head of Faculty in our Construction, Engineering & Motor Vehicle Faculty at North Devon College in Barnstaple.

As we continue to invest in the growth and future success of the Faculty, we're also recruiting for a Head of Faculty, creating a rare opportunity to shape the leadership, culture and direction of the provision together from the outset. Ideally you'll have a great track record of managing and leading a team. Working with the Head of Faculty, you'll play a key role in driving student success, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, and ensuring the effective day-to-day management of the faculty.

Our Construction, Engineering & Motor Vehicle Faculty offers a wide range of vocational courses for young people. If you're looking to lead a team of inspiring teachers, we want to hear from you.

Role Responsibilities

As a Deputy Head of Faculty you will lead on quality assurance, staff development, student achievement, and recruitment activities, while deputising for the Head of Faculty when required.

What You’ll Bring

  • A passion for education, continuous improvement and student success
  • Experience of curriculum, team or faculty leadership
  • A recognised teaching qualification and relevant Level 3 qualification or above
  • A strong track record of delivering excellent teaching and supporting student achievement
  • Experience of quality improvement, performance management and data analysis
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion
