Founded over 30 years ago, Sir Cameron Mackintosh's Delfont Mackintosh Theatres Ltd owns and operates eight of the most prestigious theatres in London's West End: the Gielgud, Noël Coward, Novello, Sondheim, Prince Edward, Prince of Wales, Victoria Palace and Wyndham's.

Role Overview

This role will report to the Head of Stage and shall be responsible for the delivery of first-class technical services, from themselves and, along with the Head of Stage, from their team. The Deputy Head of Stage is accountable for the development of their team and will ensure that staff perform to the highest standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience as Venue Technician, production carpentry, rigging and show turnovers.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance duties.
  • Experience of team management including creating rotas, monitoring costs and training; they will be accountable for the development of their team, and will ensure that staff always perform to the highest standards.
  • Knowledge of the terms of the SOLT/BECTU Agreement and their impact on staffing and scheduling requirements.
  • Knowledge of production specific and Health and Safety.
  • Flexible approach to work, proactive and self-motivated as well as proven ability to problem solve and deal quickly and effectively with unexpected situations.
