Are you an ambitious senior workforce leader ready to shape the future of people services across one of the UK’s largest and most complex NHS organisations?

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) is looking for an exceptional Deputy Head of Workforce to play a pivotal role in delivering strategic workforce leadership across our corporate services, with a particular focus on the Directorate for Data, Technology and Information (DT&I).

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a major digital and organisational transformation agenda. You will be a trusted strategic HR adviser to the Chief Digital Information Officer and senior leadership teams, supporting a directorate that spans Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital NHS Trust, as well as the strategic people leadership across our GSTT Corporate Services.

In this influential role, you will help shape corporate workforce strategy, lead complex organisational change, strengthen leadership capability and use workforce intelligence to drive better decisions.

You will work across organisational boundaries, partnering with senior leaders, staff-side colleagues and People Directorate specialists to deliver practical, inclusive and future-focused workforce solutions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
