Holly Hill Infant School

Holly Hill Church School is looking for an excellent teacher and inspiring leader to join us as our new Deputy Headteacher.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the next stage of our school’s journey, with a particular focus on teaching and learning, professional development and coaching, alongside wider whole-school leadership and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities.
We are a warm, welcoming joint Methodist and Church of England school with high ambitions for our children and our community. Our Christian vision, “Life in All its Fullness” (John 10:10), is at the heart of school life and reflects our commitment to helping every child flourish educationally, socially and spiritually.
The Role
Working closely with the Headteacher and wider leadership team, you will:
- lead and develop high-quality teaching and learning through our Holly Hill Pedagogy;
- support teachers, teaching assistants and leaders to grow through coaching, modelling, feedback and professional development;
- strengthen curriculum, assessment and subject leadership, including our continued focus on phonics and early reading;
- use evidence and pupil outcomes to help identify priorities and evaluate the impact of our work;
- work closely with our SENDCo/Inclusion Lead to ensure high expectations and inclusive practice for every child;
- champion our trauma-informed and relational approach, helping children to feel safe, valued and ready to learn;
- contribute to safeguarding as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead;
- help lead and develop the distinctive Christian character of Holly Hill; and
- support the day-to-day leadership of the school and deputise for the Headteacher when required.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

You will be:
- an excellent and reflective primary practitioner with successful leadership experience;
- knowledgeable about EYFS and KS1 and the importance of strong foundations in communication, language, phonics and reading;
- an encouraging and supportive leader who can inspire, coach and appropriately challenge others;
- ambitious for all children, including those with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and children who may experience barriers to learning;
- able to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, families, governors and our wider community;
- committed to safeguarding, inclusion and high professional standards;
- and willing to actively support and develop Holly Hill’s Christian vision and distinctive Methodist and Church of England character.

Our Christian foundation is an important part of who we are. Applicants do not need to belong to a particular Christian denomination, but our Deputy Headteacher will need to actively support our Christian vision and Methodist-Anglican character and contribute positively to collective worship and spiritual development.
